The Women's cancer Initiative started in 2003 by Mrs. Devieka Bhojwani in collaboration with Tata hospital, has through the years been able to carter a wide range of otherwise unaffordable treatment to thousands of underprivileged female cancer patients over the years.

Our Journey

WCI – TMH is a foundation which was formed in year 2003 to resolve various issues related to cancers in women. Mrs. Devieka Bhojwani in association with Tata Memorial Hospital has set up a foundation to engage herself proactively with various issues related to cancer in women such as breast, Ovarian, and Cervical Cancers.

This foundation is based at the Tata Memorial Hospital, one of the most prestigious organization in the country working on therapy, education and research in cancer.

WCI-TMH Aims at alleviating the physical, emotional & financial suffering associated with breast as well as other cancers, in Indian women.

Initiative to Cure Cancer

Devieka Bhojwani has been instrumental in setting up the ‘Women’s Cancer Initiative’ in 2003, in partnership with the Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, one of India’s leading cancer hospitals.The foundation has been designed to take care of various issues related to cancers in women such as breast, cervical & ovarian cancers. The foundation has undertaken numerous initiatives to create awareness and emphasize the importance of early detection. It aids R&D on the causes and cures of the disease, as well as facilitates interaction between professionals through annual breast cancer conferences. The foundation also financially supports over 300 women annually who are unable to afford their treatment but have over an 80% chance of recovery. Over the past few years the Women’s Cancer Initiative – Tata Memorial Hospital has grown from strength to strength with timely assistance from many volunteers, well-wishers friends & Donors. The Foundation today is a very active body, involved in many areas and steadily progressing towards achieving its goals. In a very short time-span, we have achieved encouraging results, which provide us the motivation to continue our journey ahead.
